How to install VirtualBox in macOS



We will be installing VirtualBox in macOS in 4 simple steps. If you are using Windows don’t worry as the process is very similar (the typical I accept, next, next, next, finish ordeal). We will be installing VirtualBox in macOS in 4 simple steps.

1 Download VirtualBox


Open your web browser and go to www.virtualbox.org and click Downloads













Click OS X hosts

















Click Save File












2 Install VirtualBox

When the file progress bar shows finished double click the file in your browser’s download history



Wait a few moments for the file to be verified and opened then double click on the VirtualBox.pkg icon



Wait a few moments for the application to be verified then click Continue











Click Continue again


Click Install






Type your admin user ID and password then click Install Software













 Click Close

Click Move To Trash









3 Open VirtualBox


Now click Finder in your Dock, go to Applications and double click VirtualBox

Now that it’s open right click the icon in your dock and choose to keep it there since we will be using this frequently in the blogs to come.

That’s it! Now that virtual box is installed lets move on to the next blog post where we are going to install our first VM.
